Cruise-Mate and Cruise-Mate II are intended for motorcycle warm up and service only. Under no condition do we recommend locking the throttle open or removing your hands from the handlebar while the motorcycle is moving.

1.      Loosen throttle cable adjusting lock nut and back off cable adjuster.

2.      Remove throttle cable housing bolts.

3.      Remove throttle cable from grip and unscrew from cable housing.

4.      Locate bottom center of throttle cable housing cavity from inside housing and drill a 1/8 hole through housing.

5.      Flip housing over and using the 1/8th hole as a guide drill a 21/64th hole in housing from the outside.

a.       Drill 21/64th hole from the outside of throttle housing to avoid damaging chrome with drill.

6.      Tap 21/64th hole with 3/8-24 tap.

a.       Be careful to remove all chips from inside of housing to avoid chips entering throttle cable when reassembled.

7.      Apply Loctite to outside of Cruise-Mate bushing.

8.      Screw Cruise-Mate bushing into throttle housing and tighten.

9.      Back Cruise-Mate out of throttle housing far enough to remove tension from wave spring.

10.  Reinstall throttle housing on bike and adjust throttle cable to operating position.

11.  Screw Cruise-Mate into throttle housing until you just feel pressure against throttle tube.
