Install a 5/32 shim (Allen wrench works fine) in brake lever as shown in
a. This step is important to avoid damaging the brake light switch |

| 2 | Loosen throttle return cable adjustment. | Fig 2 |
| 3 | Remove the 2 screws from the switch housing and loosen master cylinder screws. Separate top and bottom of switch housing. | Fig 3 |
| 4 | Remove cables from grip and remove grip. | Fig 4 |
| 5 | Remove front cable, friction shoe and thumbwheel from switch assembly. | Fig 5 |
| 6 | Install drill jig in switch housing. | Fig 6 |
| 7 | Carefully drill original hole to 21/64, remove plastic bushing from drill jig and using hole in jig to guide tap straight, tap the newly drilled hole with 3/8-24 tap | Fig 7 |
| CAUTION; be sure to remove all metal chips from switch housing before proceeding with CRUISE-MATE installation. | ||
| 8 | Reassemble grip, control assembly and return cable adjustment to original position | |
| 9 | Screw CRUISE-MATE cartridge into switch housing and install CRUISE-MATE handle, spring and shoulder bolt. | |
