SECOND GENERATION CRUISE-MATE

1. What is Second Generation Cruise-Mate?

Second generation Cruise-Mate utilizes a much lower profile (see picture below) than the original version for a cleaner look and also incorporates a molded in nylon tip, which eliminates the need for the original equipment friction shoe for easier installation.

2. Why did we change the design of Cruise-Mate?

Many or our existing customers indicated they loved the product, however, if we could move the handle closer to the control assembly and eliminate the visible spring it would be even better.

3. Why did the cost of Cruise-Mate go up?

The process of molding the nylon tip into the stud is considerably more expensive than just machining the stud as was the case with the original Cruise-Mate and the special stainless steel wave spring used to prevent Cruise-Mate from actuating inadvertently is almost double the cost of the compression spring used in the original product.

Even with the price increase we are still very confident Cruise-Mate is the best value throttle lock on the market today.

4. Can I upgrade from the original Cruise-Mate to second generation?

Yes. All Cruise-Mates are easily upgraded to second generation. Cost of the upgrade is $15.00.
